I hope you haven't forgotten about Nimrod, Ishmael, Balaam, and Ithamar from our spring concert. What a challenge "Rejoice in the Lamb" was for all of us! We met that challenge and look forward to the next one this December. Let me bring you up to date on NKCC happenings and an experience Peggy and I had this summer.

As most of you know, a group representing NKCC left for Holland and Belgium on June 12th and toured until the 22nd. There were twenty-five of us and we sang four concerts during our ten day visit. All of the concerts were well received by audiences of around 100 to 150 each. We experienced the usual Dutch treats, chocolate, windmills, Delft pottery, Belgium waffles, wooden shoes, and Rembrandt paintings. We also had excellent food, some charming hotels, and a great guide/bus driver. It was fun to spread the gospel of NKCC all over a foreign country and to experience the people and culture of Holland. We all want to go back some day!

Peggy and I attended a week long Presbyterian Church Music Conference in Montreat, North Carolina this summer. We were members of a 600 voice choir and attended classes on choral and church music. We attended a worship service each day in which new and exciting concepts of worship were presented. The choral man was excellent and I cannot wait to share some of his ideas with you this fall!

Please help us recruit good singers for the choir, especially basses and tenors. We appreciate everyone, however, so we look forward to seeing you on the 12th!

Sincerely,

John 0. Westlund
